Vionosa Airlines was founded as replacement to Scandair Ecuador by Swisslines Intercontinental Group in July 2020.
The company exclusively operates for UNASUR Airlines under the UNASUR Airlines Ecuador brand. Vionosa Airlines operates closely with its fellow UNASUR Airlines Group partners in Paraguay and Chile, as well as all former Swisslines Group members and Global Excellence partners. The company was ultimately taken over by Air Tourtiere Group on the 2nd of August 2023.
